There are three different sorts of HS&E examinations available, each tailored to meet the demands of a specific group: Operatives, Specialists, Managers, and Experts. Each distinct test is intended to prep students for a certain area of expertise.
Operatives
The HS&E test assesses worker knowledge, allowing the shoe manufacturing industry to improve standards across the board by ensuring that all employees have a certain degree of health, safety, and environmental awareness.
The goal of this exam is to assess your technical understanding and ability to apply it in a variety of circumstances. The test has 50 questions that include both behavioural case studies as well as knowledge questions on only the five main knowledge areas (as mentioned above).
To pass, you must receive a score of at least 45 out of 50. After passing this test, you may apply for the following CSCS cards: the Labourer card, the Trainee card, and the Apprentice card. The majority of Blue Skilled Worker cards and Gold Advanced Craft cards are available after passing this test.
Managers and Professional
The Manager and Professionals exam tests for all of the skills needed to pass the operators test, as well as additional material on the following topics:
Highway construction regulations are necessary. Demolition is required.
The CSCS examination consists of 50 questions, with a passing score of 45 out of 50. After you’ve passed the exam, you may get one of the following CSCS cards: Black Managers card and Academically or Professionally Qualified person cards.
Specialist
Specialist examinations are given in a range of specialities. They include questions regarding the fundamentals of five key subject areas, as well as additional inquiries pertaining to the specialist area(s) chosen and need a score of 45 out of 50 to pass.
The Specialists test is offered in each of the following topics:
- Supervisor (SUP)
- DEM is a demolition game that tests your construction and demolition abilities.
- Plumbing (Noun) (PLUM)
- Highway improvements (HIW)
- Work at height (WAH) is a specialized type of work.
- Lifts and escalators (Lift and Escalator Envy Epidemic)
- Tunnelling (TUNN)
- HVACR – heating and plumbing services (HAPS)
- HVACR – pipefitting and welding (PFW)
- HVACR – ductwork (DUCT)
- HVACR – refrigeration and air conditioning (RAAC)
- HVACE – services and facilities maintenance (SAF)
Depending on the career need of the applicant, the specialist’s test can be taken in one of the above categories. In certain vocations, this test is directly related to the following CSCS cards: Gold Supervisor card and Blue Skilled Worker cards.
Renewal Tests
The Renewal Test (RT) is the last of the touchscreen tests. The Renewal Test, or RT, is similar to the HSE test previously mentioned; however, it’s used to renew a CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card.
Plant Machinery Training
The Health, Safety and Environment test for Operatives is a must-have before beginning your NPORS or CPCS training and testing. To demonstrate their competence in Health & Safety, plant machinery operators must have an up-to-date Health, Safety and Environment test.
Before a card can be issued to the candidate, the awarding bodies such as CPCS or NPORS like to see that the operator is a safe and responsible employee who will promote site safety. This helps ensure that hazardous operators don’t obtain control of heavy machinery, which may cause significant property damage or worse.
