Before the procedure
Are you a good candidate for a hair transplant?
First, you need to remember that not everyone is a candidate for a best hair transplant in navi mumbai. Sometimes, your age and the pattern of your baldness will decide if hair transplant surgery is right for you.
If your hair is thinned out and you are younger than 30, you might want to delay a transplant. Instead, consult your doctor to see if medical treatment would be more effective. Although hair transplants can be performed, it is possible to delay because your balding pattern might not be obvious. You may lose more hair if you wait until you’re older. This could lead to an unnatural or undesirable look. It is a wise decision to wait until you are older and your balding pattern is more obvious.
Similar to the above, if your hair is falling out a lot and you fear that your hair will go completely bald, a hair transplant may not be the best option.
No matter what hair transplant technique you choose, there will be some scarring. This will not affect your hair’s natural beauty. If you decide to shave your head due to your hair becoming too thin, these scars will become visible.
It is important to assess your eligibility for a hair transplant. A hair transplant specialist can help you determine if it is right for you.
Do some basic research on your Transplant Specialist
Before you even step foot in an office to have a consultation, you must know some facts about your doctor and their history.
While this doesn’t mean you don’t need to conduct a background check before setting up an appointment, the growing technology in hair transplantation means it is important to find out who will be performing the procedure, and what training/education they have. First, a doctor must be involved.
Although this may seem obvious, many new technologies are available to assist doctors in hair transplant procedures. This means that some people believe the actual procedure is simple and can be done by anyone. These machines have been made available to a variety of doctors, sometimes even non-physicians, who can then advertise hair transplant services. Would you want a gynaecologist, a cardiologist or both performing hair transplants? Most likely not.
The primary experts in hair transplant surgery are dermatologists and plastic surgeons/plastics. They still require further training in hair transplantation. This speciality is not covered in most residency programs. Hair Restoration specialists have had years of experience performing these procedures. It takes months to master the new technology, including robotic-assisted techniques. Do not trust your hair to anyone who is only part-time or new to the industry. Only someone who has a thorough understanding of hair loss and all medical and surgical procedures to treat it should be trusted.
The robot reduces fatigue after long FUE procedures. The robot is controlled by the patient. It is used to improve the efficiency of FUE procedures.
It is important to research your hair transplant specialist to get the best possible care.
What is the cost of a hair transplant?
The hair transplant cost will vary depending on where they are performed. There is no standard price. Despite this, The Artius Clinic wants to be as transparent as possible about the process. We have all our pricing information available on our website.
Hair transplants are generally priced according to the number of hair grafts needed to rebuild the affected areas. You can get 500 to 3000 grafts if you need them. For traditional hair transplants, we offer three pricing levels depending on how many grafts are required. The cost per graft will drop the more you have to do the procedure.
A hair transplant can cost you anywhere from $3000 to $11,000 depending on the number of grafts required.
You can also choose from different pricing options if you want to have a facial hair transplant for the eyebrows or moustache area.
The Hair Transplant Procedure
FUT Method
Two main types of hair transplant methods are being used today by doctors, including ours. FUT, also known as Follicular Unit Transplant (or the strip method), is the first. This involves removing a strip from the donor hair at the back of your head. The hair follicles will then be cut into pieces for transplantation. After the hair has been removed surgically, the scalp will be stitched and covered with existing hair.
The FUT option is less expensive. The FUT procedure will leave a small, linear scar on the donor area. It does not require that you shave your head. However, you will feel tender for several days.
The donor hair will then be placed in the thinning areas by using the same FUT and FUE methods. It is only the removal of the donor hair that makes a difference.
FUE Method (Robot-Assisted)
Our office uses the ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplant System for the extraction of donor’s hairs from the scalp during the FUE (Follicular Unit Excision) method. The ARTAS Robot helps to prevent fatigue and allows for precise, guided excision. Although the robot is an assistant, the doctor has full control.
FUE is a method that uses very small, circular “punches” to remove donor hair follicles from the scalp. FUT involves removing the entire strip surgically. This method removes donor hair without the need for sutures. The “punches” used to remove donor’s hair leaving only small dots scars that can be easily covered with short hairstyles.
The procedure does not require the use of sutures. This means that there is little discomfort and pain afterwards. It is similar to a sunburn. This procedure has two main drawbacks. First, the donor area needs to be shaved. Second, it is more costly.
Both methods of hair transplantation are excellent options and will yield amazing results. However, you should talk to your doctor about which method would be most beneficial for you and your hairstyle preferences.
Hair Transplant Recovery and Maintenance
The recovery process and timeline for hair transplant surgery are different depending on the method used (FUE or FUT). There will be some discomfort for several days. This can be controlled with Acetominophen (Tylenol), or other prescribed pain medication. The FUT method may cause discomfort that lasts longer because the donor’s hair is removed from the scalp.
It is a good idea to take a break for 3 days following the procedure. This will ensure that you are comfortable and not experience any swelling.
This is a surgical procedure. It is a minor procedure in the grand scheme, but it is still surgery. You should follow your doctor’s instructions regarding recovery to avoid any complications.
