Ideal Exercises To Lose Weight And Trim Your Body

The desire to lose a considerable amount of weight or body fat is the reason why people indulge in several physical activities in the form of exercise. About half of the population of American adults attempt weight loss every year. Yes, dieting does some tricks to help with weight loss but exercising is the most common strategy that people trying to shed extra pounds of flesh employ. Here are some ideal exercises that will help you lose weight and trim your body.

Gyming

Gyming activities are becoming more popular in the world today and play a major role in shedding weight. The good thing about it is that most times, people attach themselves to coaches who put them on a routine. This will ensure that they are involved in physical activities for at least a period of time whenever they hit the gym. There are several gym products to help trim different parts of the body and there are lots of videos on the internet that teach you how to use these products if you have them at home. You should also consider used gym equipment, as long as you know that it is helpful and it will serve the purpose of the exercise.

Walking long distances

Walking is one of the most recommended physical activities for the purpose of losing weight. It is very effective and also the cheapest remedy for losing some pounds of flesh. All you need to do is hit the road and take long walks regularly for a period of time till the desired result is achieved. While at it, you will need to make sure to keep hydrated as you may lose fluids through sweating. So, take with you a bottle of water and some glucose in case you also feel tired. According to Harvard Health, it is estimated that a 70kg or 155-pound person burns around 167 calories every half hour of walking at a moderate pace of 4 miles per hour or the equivalent of 6.4 Km/h.

Cycling

Getting a bike, whether a traditional one or a motorized bike, is another step in the right direction if you want to shed weight. Cycling has been known to strengthen muscles and bones and help to burn excessive fat in the process. Although it is traditionally done outdoors, some gyms and fitness centers have stationary bikes that allow you to cycle while staying indoors. Harvard Health asserts that a 155-pound person burns about 260 calories per every 30 minutes of cycling on a stationary bike at a moderate pace and about 300 calories on a bicycle within the same time at a moderate speed of 12 to 13.9 miles per hour.

Swimming

How you swim affects how many calories you burn. The butterfly style helps you burn the most amount in calories followed by breaststroke and treading water. The backstroke doesn’t shed off weight as much as the other styles. Swimming is a fun way of losing weight and doing this for an hour, three times a week can significantly reduce that body fat and improve your flexibility. Swimming also reduces several heart disease risk factors. It has a low impact nature and so, it is easy on your joints, making it a great option for those having joint pains or some sort of injury.

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

This type of training which is also referred to as interval training is a form of exercise that includes short bursts of intense exercise with recovery periods in between the intervals. Usually, this lasts about 10 to 30 minutes and can burn a lot of excessive fat off your body. A study shows that HIIT burns about 30% more calories every 60 seconds than other forms of exercises like cycling, weight training, and even running on a treadmill. This means it helps you burn more calories while spending less time exercising. People usually indulge in HIIT to burn belly fat.

Final word

It is a known fact that exercises help us lose weight but there are other benefits of exercising. It boosts the mood, helps build stronger bones, helps with keeping fit, and also reduces the risk of several chronic diseases. So, doing exercises is not for the purpose of losing weight only. You should still have a routine even if you feel you are not overweight so that you can stay fit and healthy.
