How to troubleshoot HP Printer Error Code 0xf1
HP is a famous hardware company known for manufacturing a wide range of computer hardware devices. HP is also famous for printers. You can easily get a wide range of printers at very good prices. HP printers are also known for their robust services. You barely get into any trouble while using the HP printer. There are only a few errors which you may face while using the HP printer. One common HP printer faced by many users is error code 0xf1. This printer error mostly appears due to pending printing jobs. But sometimes you can get this error due to other reasons also.
Deleting pending print jobs
0xf1 error can appear when you are trying to take printout but you have lots of pending print jobs. Remove all the print jobs from your HP printer and then try to take a printout. Here are the steps for deleting pending print jobs:
- Close the error wizard
- Click on the Start button
- Go to Run wizard
- Type Control printers
- Hit the OK button
- Right-click on your printer
- Tap the Open button
- Click on Cancel All Documents option
- Hit the OK button
All the pending print jobs will get cancelled. Now restart your device and try to take a printout. If your HP printer is still showing you 0xf1 error then seek other solutions.
Reset your HP printer
HP printer errors can also appear due to any runtime error. When you get the error try restarting the printer. Pull out the USB cable and power cord. Wait for about a minute and then connect the power cord to the wall outlet again. Your HP printer will start automatically. Now plug in the USB cable and try to take a printout. If you are still dealing with 0xf1 error then try resetting the printer. Follow the given steps for resetting your HP printer:
- From the printer screen, click on Setup
- Hit the Tools button
- Click on Restore Defaults
- Tap the Yes button
Your HP printer will restart automatically after getting reset. Now you have to configure all the printer settings. After configuration, you have to make your printer online.
- Go to the start menu
- Navigate to Control Panel
- Click on Devices and Printers
- Now right-click on the printer and click on See what’s printing option
- A window will appear on the screen
- Choose Printer option
Click on Use Printer Online option. Now check whether your HP printer is showing online status or not. Give a print command from the PC and check whether your 0xf1 error gets fixed or not.
Check for the paper jam
0xf1 error can also appear when your HP printer gets in paper jamming. Paper jamming is a common issue in HP DM printers. The paper jam occurs when paper chunks get stuck inside the printer. Open the access door of your printer and remove the ink cartridge carefully. Now remove the paper chunks and reinstall the cartridge. Check the paper tray as the paper jam can also occur when your printer draws multiple papers simultaneously. After removing the paper jam you can easily take printouts with your HP printer.
Check the printhead
The printing error can appear when the printhead gets clogged. The printhead should be cleaned regularly otherwise it gets clogged with the ink. You can clean HP printhead from the control panel:
- Load pages on the paper tray
- Press the hold the power button of HP printer
- Now press the cancel button for two times and then hit the Resume button
- Now release the power button. Your printhead will get clean. You have to repeat these steps for about 2-3 times.
Cleaning printhead from HP solution centre
- Go to the Start menu
- Click on All Programs
- Select HP and then click on HP solution centre
- Go to Settings
- Click on Printer Toolbox
- On the Toolbox, select Device Services
- Choose Clean Printheads option
Now follow the on-screen commands for cleaning the printhead. After cleaning the printhead, restart your device and give the print command. Now check whether your error gets fixed or not. If not then check your printer driver for updates. If your printer driver is outdated then update it immediately.
