Electronic Christian Music, also called CEDM, Christian electronic dance music, CDM, or Christian electronic musical music is a style of electronic dance music which features spiritual messages in its lyrics and beats. It was created by producers of Christian rock and gospel music in the 1980s. Electronic Christian Music is a sub-genre of Christian music that utilizes digital recording techniques. In electronic, Christian music, vocals are absent, as well as most instruments found in typical Christian worship music. This sub-genre has become popular in the United States and in the United Kingdom. The use of computers, laptop computers, and other technology continues to improve the way that artists make music. Since then, other Christian radio stations have followed suit. Even Penthouse has used Christian music to increase its audience. The popularity of Christian radio shows is not only increasing the number of people who consume Christian music, but it is also helping to spread the message of Christ to an ever increasing number of people.
Electronic Christian music has even reached the point where it is available for free download on several websites. Although there are sites that claim to offer free downloads, most of them are illegal and don’t allow one to download their music without paying an expensive fee. Although some of the Christian music that is available for free may be quality, many of them are poor quality or contain many annoying bugs that really degrade the sound quality of the music.
