Another interesting fact about the valley is the Mahabharata characters have a great influence on the Har ki Dun valley. It is believed that Pandavas took this path and went to heaven by Swargarohini Parvat. There is a temple in Osla village, which is dedicated to Duryodhana. The highlights of this temple is the wooden carvings and unique architecture that will grab anyone’s attention in one sight. By Flight – The Jolly Grant Airport is located about 25 km from the city.
By Train – Available for Dehradun from Delhi
Nandadevi Express train – No: 12205 (It Departure at 11:50pm; Arrivals at – 5:40am)
Dehradun Express train – No: 12687 (It Departure at – 9:10pm; Arrivals at– 5:00am)
By Bus:-There were regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun.
Best time to go to Har Ki Dun:
The best time will be April to June & September to November for visiting Har Ki Dun.
Har Ki Doon is highly recommended for beginners also. Everyone with good fitness and walking stamina can take this trek. Har Ki Dun trek is one of the most recommended treks in the Garhwal Himalayas. Thus the valley of Har-ki-Dun is located at the base, at an altitude of 3,556 meters.
The valley is surrounded by a dense with Pine forests and offers best amphitheater views of mountains such as :

The River:
The Tons River, which is known for the largest tributary of the River Yamuna which originates in Har-ki-dun. This river carries water in its stream , which the way is more than the main stream of the River Yamuna.
This Tons River merges with the Yamuna River, which is nearly at the place called Kalsi in Dehradun. Hence it is the only major perennial river among the rivers, which originates from the Himalayas.

The trek from starting from Taluka to Har Ki Dun is graded easy, as it goes through some of the most isolated villages of India . Which were still not affected by any civilization. The people present in this region are very warm and welcoming us. When the Shepherds visit this region for moths to graze their animals on the rolling grass.
Still the valley remains snow as it is covered from December to March. After a week-long , the trek through this valley is one of the most scenic treks in Uttarakhand.
