A Day in the Life of an Emergency Dental Clinic
If you’ve ever experienced severe tooth pain and knew that visiting an emergency dental clinic was the only option, you know how stressful this can be. It’s not just the pain that’s got you worried; it’s also the potential cost of dental care when your insurance doesn’t cover all of your dental expenses, or maybe you don’t have dental insurance at all.
Our team consists of
1 dentist, 1 dental assistant, and a front desk receptionist. The morning is our busiest time as we see patients with urgent care needs or appointments.
At around 8:30 AM our first patient arrives for their appointment. Once they’re finished seeing one of us, they can relax in our comfortable waiting room while working on filling out any remaining forms they need to complete before their procedure. Our team works fast, which means most people typically finish up around 11:00 AM and have plenty of time left before going back to work or school that same afternoon. On average, we each can handle 12–14 patients per day during normal business hours; while after hours typically sees fewer patients due to both fewer doctors working at once as well as only urgent cases that can’t wait until regular business hours start again.
Our facility has
a large waiting room, three examination rooms, and a laboratory for dental work. The emergency clinic is manned with a licensed dentist and trained support staff who are able to handle all dental emergencies as well as provide standard dental care services including fillings, crowns, tooth extraction and root canals. We employ seven registered dentists in addition to other licensed professionals on staff during business hours.
By appointment only we are open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Evening appointments may be arranged at our discretion after consultation with one of our staff members. All emergency cases will receive prompt attention even if it occurs outside normal business hours. If you need emergency dental treatment call us at [phone number]. We will direct you to our emergency facility which handles emergencies 24/7 and works closely with area hospitals if necessary. From that description create your own Day in the life post about an Emergency Dental Clinic: What happens when someone comes into your practice? How do you make sure their experience is positive? What tools do you use to make sure everything goes smoothly? How does it change depending on what time of day it is?

Dr Nollman has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years and currently serves as president on two associations The American Academy of General Dentistry (AAGDS) and The Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS). Both organizations focus on improving patients oral health through continuing education to all members of general dentistry.
We have ongoing education to make sure we are at the top of our game
By attending continuing education classes, your dentist will stay up-to-date on recent advances in dental care. In addition to attending these lectures and seminars, dental professionals often set aside time to read new articles or journals about treatments and procedures. This helps keep your dentist well informed about which techniques are most beneficial for patients’ oral health. No matter how much training a dentist has received, he or she will never stop learning—about both general dentistry and clinical dental specialties—in order to provide you with optimal oral health care.
Learning is ongoing so our clients receive treatment they can feel confident about every time they visit us! Routine checkups allow your dentist to see small problems before they become large ones: During regular exams, your dental professional performs many different tests to monitor your oral health status.
One patient’s story
I was having a great day until I went to bed and woke up with some serious dental pain. He took great care of me, with attentive staff and gentle hands. If you ever find yourself in need of immediate dentistry service, I would highly recommend. This guy has everything you could ever need for fillings, crowns, cleanings…you name it! I left feeling incredibly grateful for his services! It also helps that he takes my insurance – yay!
How you can reach us
In cases of extreme dental pain, we can get you in immediately. Don’t wait to take care of your dental health. You may be experiencing discomfort or have a noticeable problem with your teeth, such as: toothaches; broken or missing teeth; loose fillings and broken crowns; swelling or infected gums; chipped or cracked teeth, trauma due to a fall; and missing fillings that may cause future decay.
We want to help keep you smiling confidently for years to come! We also offer multiple options for treatment which include immediate relief services that do not require anesthesia.
Inside an Emergency Dental Clinic
A trip to the emergency room can be an anxiety-inducing experience, especially if you have to go there due to a dental problem. Now imagine you’re going there because of an oral emergency, and you aren’t sure what will happen next, or how much it will cost you in the end…That’s the everyday life of an emergency dental clinic like Dr. Pompa’s Dental Emergency Clinic in South Florida.
The Waiting Room
If it’s possible, you should schedule your emergency appointment for a non-busy time at your dental clinic of choice. But if you get there and realize there are other patients waiting, don’t worry; they’re all in pretty much the same boat as you are. It doesn’t matter what time of day or night you call—there will likely be others ahead of you. Don’t be surprised if they all show up at once, either—it happens more often than not!
Emergency Dentist Visits at Night
The majority of visits to emergency dental clinics occur in private residences.
The Dentist Offices
In any case, once you’re in a dentist chair, you won’t feel any pain at all—that’s a good thing! Once your wisdom teeth are out, you might get some Novocain shots if necessary. As for recovery time, that depends on whether or not your wisdom teeth were impacted.
Impacted wisdom teeth take longer to heal than extracted ones do; however, there will probably still be swelling. If you notice swollen lymph nodes under your jawbone, visit your doctor immediately; it could indicate an infection from surgery. To help reduce swelling following surgery, apply ice packs every couple hours (if possible) until swelling goes down—this will also relieve some discomfort while it heals as well. That said, it’s normal to experience other common post-surgery side effects such as bleeding and discomfort in the gums where wisdom teeth used to be located.
What to Expect When Getting a Tooth Pulled
Pulling a tooth hurts. But it also opens up a world of opportunity for your mouth. If you decide on extracting, we can set up a date that works best for you. How Much Does a Tooth Extraction Cost?
A dental extraction is a procedure to remove one or more teeth from your mouth.
Other Injuries We Treat at Our Emergency Dental Clinic
Our emergency dentist routinely treats broken jaws, dislocations, and more serious oral trauma such as fractures and lacerations caused by falls or motor vehicle accidents. A broken tooth is never fun; however, with our help you can keep your smile bright and ensure that you don’t lose your tooth. If you have a dental emergency outside of our normal hours for business, don’t hesitate to call us—our goal is to always be available when our patients need us most.
