Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainians have become more united and are showing real heroic resistance to the Russian occupiers. Both at home and abroad, people volunteer, organize various peaceful rallies and actions in support of the Motherland, fight on the digital front and help in other equally important ways.
In this article, we have collected 6 effective and relevant options for ordinary people to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense forces in this difficult time.
1. Financial support to the military
To support the Ukrainian army, separate official accounts have been created with the National Bank of Ukraine. So, you do not need to look for exactly where to make a payment – this can be done in the state digital application “Diia” (Action), as well as through the banking of the majority of popular Ukrainian banks. You can also send funds through a bank department or terminal by providing bank details.
2. Help volunteer organizations and foundations
Large charitable foundations and volunteer associations, such as “Come Back Alive” and “Group 35”, are engaged in non-stop military and TDF support. They are created to provide the military with the most necessary tactical equipment, uniforms, needed ammunition, medicine, and more. For example, the Group 35 Foundation is actively involved in supplying the equipment for sappers and airborne forces, communication devices for air defense forces, optical devices, and various help for the other parts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense Forces.
You can support the Ukrainian army financially or by transferring the necessary equipment, which is urgently needed to save the lives of our defenders.
3. Humanitarian aid on the spot
There are humanitarian aid headquarters all over the country, in every settlement. People there collect food, medicine, equipment, and other things to cover the urgent needs of the military. You can help financially, bring necessary things, coordinate processes or sort donations. In addition, usually in such headquarters you can help weave nets, sew clothes, cook food, and make other things for the military.
4. Car volunteering
Volunteers with cars are always relevant and appropriate. So, if you have a car, you can deliver the necessary things to the military, help migrants, carry humanitarian aid and do other important tasks. You can become a car volunteer either by registering in the application or by contacting the volunteers directly.
5. Cyber Volunteering
Online volunteers support the blocking of hostile sites and highlighting truthful information. In this way, everyone can become part of the IT army and help to approach the victory remotely. The skills of copywriters, videographers, designers, and other online professionals are also highly valued in the information war.
6. Helping abroad
Even if you live abroad or left Ukraine during the war, you can help Ukrainians. Many countries have humanitarian aid headquarters to which you can transfer funds or various goods. You can also join in helping refugees by finding temporary homes, and jobs, doing paperwork for them, etc.
Everyone is going through this difficult time in their own way and, if you have the time and energy, help the Ukrainians and the army as much as you can. Let’s keep the volunteer front together, and confidently pace towards victory. Glory to Ukraine!
